Although the Schnellbomber concept would quickly be proven as flawed, the Ju 88 remained instrumental to the successes of the early German Blitzkrieg campaign and, thanks to its versatility, remained in service with the Luftwaffe until the very end of WW2. In fact, the Ju 88 became the most produced German twin-engine aircraft of the time, serving a multitude of roles throughout its service life.

SC250 (tedesco: Sprengbombe Cylindrisch 250) è una bomba aerea tedesca con un peso di 250 chilogrammi della seconda guerra mondiale. La lunghezza totale era fino a 164 cm e il diametro fino a 37 cm. Bombe di questo tipo potrebbero trasportare fino a 130 chilogrammi di carica esplosiva. A seconda della versione dell'SC250, erano di un'unica struttura o erano composti da due o tre sezioni. Le bombe di tipo 1 (tedesco Gutteklasse I) erano uniformi, il tipo 2 - aveva due sezioni in acciaio e il tipo 3 (tedesco Gutteklasse III) - già tre sezioni in acciaio o acciaio temprato. Le bombe utilizzavano vari tipi di detonatori, principalmente shock e micce a tempo. Le bombe SC250 potrebbero essere sganciate da aerei come, ad esempio, Junkers Ju-88, Junkers Ju-87, Heinkel He-111 o Dornier Do-17.
